Firemen’s Camp Property

 

 

First deed transfer from the Buncombe County Resister of Deeds Reads in part:

 

1.       This Indenture, made this 9th day of March, 1953, by and between Jasper Warlick and wife Zeta M. Warlick, and Edna W. Pearsall, widow hereinafter called Grantors and J.C. Williams, T.M. Carland, J.S. Dillon and their successors as Trustees for Local 865 of the International Association of Firefighters hereinafter called Grantees, (said designations shall include the respective parties, whether one or more, individual or corporate, and their respective successors in Interest or assigns).

         

          Note: Balance of transaction gives parcel number and property borders.

 

 

Second deed transfer from the Buncombe County Resister of Deeds Office reads in part:

 

2.       This Indenture, made the 21 day of May, 1959, by and between D.C. Cowan, T.E. Calloway, and B.J. Rymer, Trustees, and successors in office for Local 865, International Association of Firefighters, hereinafter called Grantors and Asheville Firefighters Club, Inc. a North Carolina corporation hereinafter called Grantees, (said designations shall include the respective parties, whether one or more Individual or corporate, and their respective successors in interest or assigns).

Third deed transfer from the Buncombe County Resister of Deeds Office reads in part:

 

3.       This Indenture, made this 1st day of May, 1978 by and between Asheville Firefighters Club, Inc. hereinafter called Grantors, and Fraternal Order of Firefighters of Asheville, INC., hereinafter called Grantees whose address is (said designations shall include the respective parties, whether one or more, individual or corporate, and their respective successor in interest or assigns).

 

          Balance of transaction gives parcel number and property borders.

 

Note: Transaction was signed by William A. Morris for the Fraternal Order of Firefighters of Asheville, Inc. and David Bryson for the Asheville Firefighters Club, Inc.

 

Forth Deed of Transfer from the Buncombe County Resister of Deeds Office Reads in part:

 

4.       GRANTOR: Fraternal Order of Firefighters of Asheville.

GRANTEE: Asheville Fire Fighters Association.

 

WITNESSETH, that the Grantor, for a valuable consideration, paid by the Grantee, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the grantee in fee simple, all that certain lot of parcel of land situated in Buncombe County, North Carolina and more particularly described as follows:

 

Being the property contained in a deed from D.C Cowan, et al. to Asheville Firefighters Club, Inc. dated May 25, 1959 and recorded in the Office of the Register of Deeds for Buncombe County, NC in Deed 814 at page 103, reference to which is hereby made for a more particular description, and being the same property conveyed to the Fraternal Order of Firefighters of Asheville, Inc. by Deed dated May 1, 1978, recorded in Deed Book 1189 at page 69, Buncombe County Registry.

 

Note: In 1959, D.C. Cowan was one of three trustees of the Asheville Fire Fighters Association, Local 865.  D.C Cowan’s name is also listed in the second deed transfer.
